Hands-On Training + Simulated Production Environment = Skills That Stick
There are many reasons that improvement initiatives fail. Often, leaders attempt to enforce top-down initiatives without getting the bulk of the workforce truly engaged in the effort. Definity Partners’ Lean Simulation is a high-energy, hands-on learning experience that exposes teams to the basics of lean. More importantly, they get hands-on practice that is reinforced through multiple activities over the course of a carefully designed sequence. An excellent introduction or refresher, the Lean Simulation is a great way to drive lean thinking across every area of your business, from the shop floor to the front office.
Engagement + Proactive Improvement
There is a big difference between leading a huddle, and leading an improvement oriented huddle that starts with “What Went Well” and leads to greater engagement and proactive improvement. Anyone can have a daily meeting and a huddle board. To really move the needle, huddle leaders need a methodology and a new way of engaging their team. Huddle simulations and advanced training are the best way to learn the method and practice the behaviors.
Problem Solving Simulation
Facilitated role play combined with tools like Definity Partners’ FASTProblem Solving create a memorable team-building experience that launches participants toward new habits. When your entire team shares a common language and approach, you can make effective problem solving a corporate habit.
Our simulations were all created for the same reason: at some point a particular client needed it to engage production and cross-functional teams in proactive improvement. Some of these programs are now available to the public. Custom-designed programs can integrate fully with your production environment and corporate language.
How We Do It
Four Environments | Four Learning Styles
Our lectures are never just lectures. The primary teaching area lays the groundwork for skills that we practice through simulations and group activities. This space is also regularly used for private meetings and offsite events for our clients and partners.
Live Manufacturing Facility
Separated from the classroom by jsust a few steps and a door is a live manufacturing operation. Our partnership with aluminum ramp manufacturer Upside Innovations brings hands-on learning to a whole new level.
There is a limit to how much you can learn while sitting in a classroom environment, particularly when you’re used to spending most of the day on your feet in a highly dynamic environment. In addition to our classroom space we have a flexible corner of the Upside Innovation facility reserved for group activities and production simulations.
On-Site At Your Facility
Delivering the in-context training and bringing hands-on components of our training into actual employee work areas accelerates both understanding and impact. We have delivered the full range of our workforce development programs at client sites across the globe. Clients appreciate the opportunity to invest in their people and build a common language and skill set, all while minimizing time off the floor.
